Rich Polak is the owner of Complete Game Training Academy in Quincy, IL. Rich grew up in Chicago and attended Brother Rice High School. As a four year varsity baseball player, he earned All State Shortstop in his senior year. Rich was recruited by the University of Central Florida, where he played for four years.
Rich was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 20th round in 1989. Rich played form 1989- 1995. In 1992 he was elected to play in the Carolina League Allstar Game. He also earned The Rolaids Relief Pitcher of the Year.
In 1992, Rich played winter ball in Venezuela. In 1993 Rich was promoted to Albany New York to play AA and that same fall he played in The Arizona Fall League.
Rich played baseball until 1995 as a career ending arm injury occurred. The love of baseball never left him and he has enjoyed coaching multiple baseball and softball teams of his three children. Rich was the assistant coach for Culver Stockton Softball in 2011-2012. For three Fall seasons during 2012-2015, he coached for the Perfect Game organization. He was previously a Quincy Notre Dame assistant coach from 2012-2016 before stepping away to follow his son’s collegiate career. In early 2023, Rich once again became a part of QND with their selection as their Head Coach.
The dream of opening his own business became a reality in November of 2014 with Complete Game. He hopes to grow the love of baseball in Quincy and the surrounding areas. Complete Game provides individual instruction in a positive environment. In a short four year period, multiple athletes have honed their skills in order to play at their higher level of either high school or college.
